About me

I am passionate about strengthening organizations and am energized by “what could be.” I find joy in helping organizations tell their unique story and fostering connections between organizations and the people that support them. I’m a listener, writer, and advocate.

I have long been intrigued with how people think, how communities thrive, and the intersection of the two. My experience in both the for profit and non-profit sectors has honed my problem-solving and communication skills to better serve in the areas of affordable housing, the arts, youth development and community organizing.

Early in my career, I worked as a community organizer, coordinated a large-scale public art project, and founded a nonprofit to support youth development. Through these and a number of other ventures, I sharpened my skills as a successful grant writer, compliance manager, and project leader. Working with me, you will find that my candor and skill are matched by my intuition and drive.

From my home office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I work to secure substantial support for projects across the country from financial institutions, community foundations, private funders and governmental sources.

I hold a dual degree in Sociology and Religion from Calvin College and earned a Master’s in Social Work degree from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Research and Community Organizing. I have a charming cat named Cleo and a loaf of a dog named Cooper. On the weekends you will find me logging miles on the North Country Trail or playing Scrabble with friends.
